On March 19, 2018, the Local Union conducted strike votes at meetings across the province. The membership gave the Union an overwhelming strike mandate of 97%.

Since that time, the Union met with the employer over a number of days: March 27 & 28, and April 4-6. Although the parties did make some progress, there are a number of outstanding issues that are still far from agreement.

Your Union Negotiating Committee has requested a No Board Report from the Ministry of Labour (MOL).

Once the MOL issues the Report, a strike deadline will be in effect. The Union anticipates this deadline to be sometime in early May.

In the meantime, the parties have agreed to meet again on May 1 and 2. The Union will update Members if any new information becomes available.
